Q: could you convert a 1968 pontiac lemans into a 1969 gto judge clone?
and what would you need.
I know you would need the bumper and rear fin for it.
color, the judge graphic.
anything else?
A: Yes, you should be able to do this. I know that the GTO parts from cars of the same year will bolt directly into a Le Mans; they are essentially the same car, but the GTO had some upgraded equipment. If you get the front valance, bumper, grilles, hood, doors, and rear bumper and taillights, you should be pretty good. There are of probably minor differences in a few other key spots that would tip experts off, but as you do your research you should find these and be able assimilate your car with relative ease.
Good luck! I hope I helped!
Q: How much would you offer for a 1969 GTO Judge that has been destroyed in a fire. The body and everything is?
Still in tact just burned. He no insurance on this $60,000 car and now is screwed.
A: Before jumping the gun here, how about showing some pictures of this car. To collectors,
I’m sure there’s much that is still salvageable. At least part of this $ 60,000.00 can come
back rather than calling it a complete loss.
That’s a darn shame… I’ve seen this before however, and having it stolen is even worse.
Q: Does anyone know where I can find a supercharger for a 1969 GTO Judge?
A: you can get a supercharger at several different places, but they will need to know what size engine you have. try jeggs or summit
Q: How much do you think a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge is worth these days?
A: They could range from $500 to close to $200,000 depending on the condition of the car and if it has the stock V8 if it doesn’t then it is really worth nothing but about 15k.
Q: 1969 GTO Judge with a 400 crate?
For all of the people who possess high performance car knowledge.
I have recently acquired a 1969 gto judge with a 400 motor. The previous owner in his quest for extreme speed felt the compelling urge to shove a blower through the hood of this car. I feel this is an abuse to such a beautiful vehicle. What I am looking to do is remove the blower, and either replace it with a twin turbo setup, or super charger. Which one will give the higher horse power. Also, the transmission needs to be upgraded to handle the torque. I need an idea as to which would be the best one to have installed. And lastly, would I benefit from having an inter cooler installed, or would that be a waste?
I will be returning the car back to its factory original interior/exterior, and am only looking to upgrade the drive train. It will not be driven in any competitions, but more used as my weekend driver, or for show.
One more little detail, the engine is carb, not fuel injected. But could be switched if necessary.
I would like the engine to be at the 600 hp marker if that is of any use.
I will not be doing the work on the car myself, as that is what we have mechanics for. I just need a little knowledge as to which items to purchase before it goes to the shop.
Thanks for any help you can give.
A: not the car that i would want to destroy by putting non stock elements on it. the ho 400 that i have is developing 375 horses, and 455 ft lbs torque in 1 1968 gto. a very similar car. the funny thing is that 1968 was the peak, 1969 things started to drop. a supercharger is the way that i would go. turbos work well but they do develop heat, and for the age of the vehicle, turbos just dont do it for me unless they are feeding a supercharger ( yes it is done this way)
my current mental project at this point is an engine that will produce 1000 horses for either a 1964 GTO or a 1930s pontaic. if you have the stock thm 400, upgrade it with a shift kit at least and look into a different torque converter. the 700r4 was riddled with problems
Q: How much is an original 1969 Pontiac GTO The Judge in original red paint job worth?
It’s my friends aunts car. the paint is starting to peel, the tires are flat, and it isn’t running and they don’t know why. it has an oil leek and there’s no obvious signs or rust. how much would it be worth, roughly?
A: First you need to establish whether it’s really a Judge or not. The easiest rule of thumb is to look at the paint code – does it say “72″ on the data plate under the hood? While it’s not a sure-fire way, it can help narrow it down because most Judges were built in this red/orange color called Carousel Red. If it’s one of the other two reds – there was a basic red and a maroon – you can’t use this rule of thumb. However, Judges in “other” cars are a lot rarer than the signature Carousel Red.
Your best bet, however, is to get the original invoice from Pontiac Historical Services. This will show if the car came with the Judge package, not to mention whether it has the optional Ram Air IV engine.
It’s hard to say how much the car is worth until we know more, especially since there are no pictures.
Q: Would you rather have a 1969 GTO judge or a porsche 911?
A: The 1969 GTO was a horrible car: poor performance and abysmal fuel consumption. They couldn’t turn and their brakes were a joke. The thing of it is, so were virtually all of the cars built back then (even Porsches), compared to today’s automobiles. Today’s top sports cars, of all makes, make the “muscle” cars of the 60s look — well, hardly muscular. Oh yeah, and they broke all of the time. Carburetors are museum pieces, right up there with steam engines.
Since you’ve specified the vintage of the GTO, but not of the 911, I’ll take a new 911 any day. Restored automobiles from the age before fuel injection was common make nice garage queens. Give them a coat of new technology paint like they never had originally, and some of them are even pretty.
Q: Can I import a 1969 Pontiac GTO “judge” to India and if so what might be the expected cost?
I have driven that car when I was in the States and I just fell in love. The sound of the engine was…..I cant even describe it. A fellow Pontiac GTO lover would understand what i’m talking about.
A: That car is so wide, and the gas mileage is abysmal. How are you going to navigate it on the streets, and you will be spending a fortune just to keep the tank filled. What about parts and necessary work it may need if it breaks down? I would say $3000 US to get it shipped.
Q: Does anybody know the widths of the side stripes on a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge?
A: these stripes tapered on both ends and one was up and the other down, try paddock they got mail order on all classic cars
